The show opens with Jimmy Iovine giving his thoughts about last night’s performance show.
He commended Haley about her taking risks, Lauren for her vocals, and Scotty for his humor.
He also made the prediction that “there will be a guy in it,” referring to the finale next week.

Over 95 million votes were cast last night, a record for a non-finale episode of American Idol.
Il Volo is in the house, Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent are in the house.
Well, actually they are not, they pre-taped their performances for tonight.
The Top 13 contestants, with the exception of the Top 3, are in tow in the audience tonight.
The Top 4 were invited to a top-secret screening of Super 8, scenes of which no one has seen publicly yet.
That is truly awesome.
Director J.J. Abrams gives the Top 4 Super 8 cameras to film. Another awesome event.
Footage from the hometowns of Lauren, Scotty, and Haley will be aired later.

Ryan plugs the tickets for the American Idol finale next week, at the Nokia Theatre.
We get to see the first of the Hometown Visits…
First up is Haley Reinhart, she went home to Chicago, Ill.
I am impressed that the Top 3 contestants left on American Idol in the Semifinals are all under 20!! Unbelievable!!
I am always thrilled at seeing the hometown visits each and every year that I have watched American Idol.
I started watching American Idol during Season 4, the season that Carrie Underwood won. I can’t believe that it has been 6 years that I have watched the show.
They debut the Ford Music Video with Haley, Lauren, and Scotty, with them on the beach.
Il Volo performs the song “O Sole Mio,” an Italian standard. They are sounding awesome.
Next up is Scotty’s return to Garner, NC for his Hometown Homecoming. Josh Turner surprised him at his performance there.
Nicole Scherzinger performs her song “Right There” with 50 Cent. The performance was kinda boring. I guess they’re trying to resurrect Nicole’s career for the umpteenth time.
Finally, they show Lauren’s hometown visit to Rossville, GA. While at home, she surveyed the damage of the tornado outbreak in Georgia.
